What if I said, 'Stop praying.' What if I told you to stop talking at God for a while, but instead to take a long, hard look at Him before you speak another word? Solomon warned us not to rush into God's presence with words. That's what fools do, and often that's what we do.So opens the book, Crazy Love, by Frances Chan. This book has been on the market for a couple of years now. I am not at all familiar with the author and in fact, I won this book as part of a door prize last Christmas and have just now gotten around to picking it up. Chan gives us some wonderful reminders of how much God loves us and that we are called to love Him in return. There have been many books written in recent years about living a radical lifestyle transformed by God's grace and love. This is one of the better ones that I have read. We could all use some encouragement to truly live as if we really believe what scripture says about God and His love for us - which results in a radical love on our part for Him. This is a thought provoking book that is both encouraging and enjoyable to read. Chan keeps the promise made in the preface of the book and does not trash talk the American church, but puts his focus on God. I only wish I could find some people who really live like this and don't just read books about living like this....
