Jennifer Chiaverini has written another installment in the Elm Creek Quilt series. This is a gentle read that draws you in to the lives of one of the part owners of the retreat known as Elm Creek Quilts. The Aloha Quilt is set largely in Hawaii and contains fascinating historical information about the island paradise as well as quilting. Friendship is the theme of the story, as it is in all Elm Creek Quilts books.  Ms. Chiaverini brings each unique character to life in such a way as to help us understand that a circle of friends is as infinitely complex as the story each individual brings to the relationship. Like the others,  this book sent me wandering through the fabric department of a craft store, wishing that I knew how to pick up a needle & thread and quilt away.
