Yes, this is a sister story. A very good sister story! Ruthie and Julia are half sisters separated after the death of Ruthie's parents (and Julia's mother). Susan Rebecca White's novel spans several years, giving us a chance to see the girls grow to adulthood. Like many sister stories, there is love, change, conflict and resolution. It is a reassuring story for those of us with sisters - showing us that sisters really are for a lifetime. While Ms. White's novel is not destined to be a classic, it proved to be very capable at capturing my attention while at the beach earlier this summer. If you want an engaging story and an easy read, this one's for you!
