Mara, Daughter of the Nile

The middle school years seem so much more serious than the elementary school years. There is a lot to be done this first year of middle school, so I have determined to weed out the unnecessary assignments as well as those which are not high quality. Like last year, I am reading school books before I assign them. The first for the upcoming year is Mara, Daughter of the Nile. The plot is boring, the writer fails to generate sympathy for the protagonist, the dialog is cumbersome and uninteresting. I will not be assigning this one.
